The Impact of Homeschooling

Impact: have a strong effect on someone or something. Synonyms: significance, mark, weight, influence.

Are you prepared to make an impact? As a Biola Youth Academics family, you have an opportunity to impact burdened homeschool families within our own community. Countless parents turn to home education when their student’s needs are not being met in a traditional classroom environment. In homeschooling they often find peace, hope, and success for the first time. They discover the joy of learning from a Biblical worldview. They commonly uncover hidden strengths and observe renewed confidence in their children.

How has your family benefited from homeschooling? Perhaps your student needed a more customized curriculum, such as more advanced coursework, or perhaps your student required a slower learning pace. We are blessed to live in a time when we have the freedom to choose our children’s educational experience, and it is crucial that we support others so they can do the same. Jesus tells us in  Matt 5:13 that, “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.”  He goes on to say in verses 14-16, “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.”  But the next verse explains, “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Are you willing to be a light to the homeschool world? Biola Youth Academics is blessed to have a scholarship fund, but it needs replenishing. Many of our families need financial assistance for their spring tuition and your donation to BYA will make a significant impact that tangibly supports homeschooling families. Please pray to consider how you might be able to pay it forward to a Biola Youth Academics family, and know that your tax deductible donation will make an impact, have a significance, leave a mark, lift a weight, and greatly influence the lives of others.
