Over 300 youth and their leaders attended this third annual student leadership training event. Biola co-sponsored the event along with Southern California Youth For Christ, Christian Educator's Association International, National Network of Youth Ministries among others.
based on John 1:14, "and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..." This theme was carried throughout the event, starting with the opening big room session video/song and teaching time and into each breakout session.
Students moved through the day in groups digging deeper into what it means that Jesus came to bring God near and now the Holy Spirit lives "among us" and in us.
gave students and their leaders a chance to worship and be drawn by the Spirit to make commitments to pray for their friends who don't yet know Jesus, to receive communion, offer confessions by pinning them to one of two crosses near the stage, and to be prayed for and blessed by leaders of the event. Gospels of John were also made available for students to give as a gift to their friends.
