The Story
Cats
This Broadway hit, composed by Andrew Lloyd Weber and based on the poems of T.S. Eliot, tells the story of the Jellicle tribe of cats and their purpose. At the Jellicle ball, the cats await the announcement by Old Deuteronomy of the cat chosen to be reborn into a new life on the Heaviside Layer. Conflict arises when Macavity, the elusive master criminal, enters the scene and instigates his evil plot to capture Old Deuteronomy. Cats such as Munkustrap, Bustopher Jones, Mr. Mistoffelees, the Rum Tum Tugger, and more interact to unfold Macavity’s mischief in this colorful and engaging musical that will bring a smile to your face and send you home singing.
